Black Tea Bundle

Ahhh the fire and strength of a good cuppa’ black! After all, it’s the world’s most popular style of tea. The secrets behind how black tea is made are closely guarded by tea makers, although the key step with most blacks is to fully oxidize the leaf during processing. In these bundles of loose-leaf black teas, our goal was to demonstrate just how diverse this popular style of tea can be. 

We offer this bundle with either 3 or 5 teas, and in both small and medium sized pouches. Compared to buying these teas individually, buying bundles saves 25% for the small pouches and 40% on the medium pouches, making them a cost-effective way to get a curated selection. Bundle of 3 includes:

• Organic Nepali Golden Black: Our most popular black tea, this exceptionally well-rounded black is made by Nepal’s first tea cooperative, Tinjure. The high bud count in the finished tea adds mouthfeel and sweetness to the familiar strength and boldness we expect from a good black.
• Nilgiri Gold: Sourced from the all-women team at the Tea Studio in the south Indian Nilgiri mountains, who are reinventing Indian tea traditions by shaping black tea to add dimension to the cup
• Organic Kumaon Black: A reliably fruity black tea made by our partners in Kumaon’s Champawat Village. Farmers harvest top-quality clonal bushes in the early summer to make this light, aromatic black.

Bundle of 5 includes all of the teas in the Bundle of 3 plus two of India’s trusted classics: :

• Assam Black: The malty, full-bodied traditional black tea is from the Chardwar Estate on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. This strong and bold black is the ideal base to make chai and also tastes great with added milk or sugar.
• Darjeeling Second Flush: Created at the legendary biodynamic Makaibari Estate perched in the towering Himalayas, this sweet and layered black is lightly oxidized, allowing notes of cacao nib and lemon peel to shine.
