2016 DARJEELING TRIP
EXPERIENCE THE HIMALAYAS
THE MOUNTAINS ARE CALLING
Every year we travel throughout India, visiting the mountains and people that inspire our work. For our 2016 trip, we invite you to join us for a 12-day guided journey deep into Indian culture.
DELHI & THE TAJ MAHAL – 5 DAYS
Explore the bustling nation’s capital, from its ancient markets to its modern art scene, and make a day trip to the Taj Mahal.
DARJEELING – 5 DAYS
Visit the world’s most famous tea region during the legendary First Flush. Includes three days homestay at the Makaibari Estate, and a tasting led by the charismatic owner Rajah Banerjee.
SINGALILA NATIONAL PARK – 2 DAYS
Hike the Himalayan ridgeline that separates India and Nepal during the spring bloom, where the rhododendrons explode across the valleys in a riot of red. Includes an overnight stay in a snow cottage run by a Nepali family.
DATES & GROUP INFO
Our dates are April 15-26. We plan to fly as a group from Vancouver, British Columbia, departing on the morning of April 15th. We believe that travel is best done in small groups, so we have limited the trip to five people. We’ve designed this trip for people who want to visit India for the first time. Our goal is to show you a side of India you’d never see otherwise.
$2,750 covers all in-country expenses: lodging, food, domestic flights, travel insurance, and experiences. To reserve your spot, you can make a $500 non-refundable deposit. We ask participants to independently purchase their tickets to India, immunizations, and visas (estimated $1,700).
