Rich flavors of chocolate and cherry fruit. A delicious way to start my morning Especially yummy with warm and foamy oat milk!
This tea is an excellent “bang for your buck.” You get a flavor profile similar to the Kumaon White but at a much more accessible price point. This green tea is well-balanced and full of flavor. It has notes of melon and cucumber and a superb aroma. I always go for a second steep. Whether you enjoy Nepali Green Peak hot or iced, you cannot go wrong. I will be signing up for automatic repeat delivery.
I am not a huge fan of white teas. They tend to be more delicate than I prefer. This one has such complex flavors. It reminded me of a green. I steeped in a gaiwan which brought out unique flavors with each steeping. I will order again.
With a name like green pearl I expected this to be a light tea. I was wrong. It can hold its own when it comes to flavor. Robust, varying notes. Not a subtle tea at all. I love a bold green and was pleasantly surprised by this one. I purchased this in the sampler and will definitely be buying a larger quantity with my next order.
I love a malty Assam. This one had a lighter mouthfeel than I expected but I will brew it with more tea leaves next time. Also tasted nice with milk and sugar.
I appreciate finding an eco friendly Assam that protects the environment and cares for the people grow it.
This sampler is a great way to introduce yourself to YMT. I have not found a “bad” tea yet. I expected the green pearl to be light but it has depth which I love in a green. The Autumnal Darjeeling is more robust than expected and reminds me of a good fall tea. I’m glad I purchased this so I know what teas to buy in larger quantities with my next order.
I am sadly sitting inside due to wildfire smoke outside, missing hiking, but sipping this gentle earthy almost woodsy brew is comforting, and the aroma is so lovely. I am so grateful for this company who brings such delicious teas to us, while directly supporting smaller tea growers. also the people are kind and helpful if you have questions.
Thank you for the sampler! This is a great idea. All the teas at YMT sound very good so selecting a tea to order was always a conundrum for me. This allows me to sample 9 different teas (4 black, 2 white, 2 green and 1 oolong) and I love that. I have tasted the oolong and the blacks and they are all great. Thank you! 🙏
The tea tastes great as always The ordering process was very smooth and shipped my order quickly.
It's pretty funny, but I describe this tea as "merely" delicious. I hated to give it less than 5 stars, but after a couple of other ones that I love even more from Young Mountain, I didn't know what to do! I decided to go with the 5 stars, and then gush more vigorously for the others I like even more. The "official description" of this tea's taste is right on, smooth and gentle.
Again I will rave about one of Young Mountain's teas. This will have a permanent spot in my tea caddy! Sweet and smooth. I made it quite strong, and even so it was not bitter nor did it need sugar (I usually only use sugar when I have accidentally made a tea too strong). Thanks for this wonderful tea.
Awesome tea! I drink it every day in the afternoon! Very smooth and nice. Best Green Tea ever!
Delicious! By far my favorite black tea.
I am not an iced tea person. Give me my tea hot. I bought this tea and wasn't a fan of it hot. I gave it to my friend who tested it out as hot steep, cold steep, sun steep, and ice steep. She gave it back to me and said "you need to try this ice steeped". I said "I don't like cold tea". She said to try it anyway. I ice steeped it and holy poop, it was amazing. I've been ice steeping it every other day and it's made a believer out of me.
I've tried a good amount of the Young Mountain teas over the years and have enjoyed them all. While listening to a webinar with Raj and the owners of Tea Studio, I "accidentally" signed up for the tea club - oops. Don't you just hate when stuff like that happens? I figured I might as well keep it and I have been so happy with it. 2 of the teas that I received were ones I hadn't tried yet and they were both fabulous. The third is one I have and love, so no complaints. The postcards were absolutely beautiful. I'm excited for my next shipment (and excited to use my 30% off code in the meantime). It's a fun way to experience assorted teas and go out of your comfort zone.

India has become the second-largest tea producer in the world, crafting world renowned varieties including Darjeeling 1st Flush and Assam Black. We at Young Mountain Tea are proud to be part of this globally beloved industry and are working with emerging tea makers to shape its future. We source directly from small-scale tea gardens in pristine mountain ranges—like our Nepali teas, which flourish in the shadow of Everest—and we are the exclusive U.S. importer of many of the Indian and Nepali loose-leaf teas in our online shop, including the Kumaon teas that hail from a forgotten Himalayan tea region that is being reborn. Every ounce (or pound) of loose-leaf tea you buy helps to create vibrant rural economies and restore the environment. Our deep partnerships with tea growers support individual livelihoods, regional commerce, and help remote communities unlock tea's full potential. That means fresh, certified organic, high-quality Indian and Nepali loose-leaf teas that you won’t find anywhere else. We believe it is possible to create sustainable communities through exceptional tea. We believe in quality and sustainability. And of course, we believe in the power of tea. Raise your cup.
