Building A Sustainable Future For Himalayan Farmers And Their Families
I first tried this as part of a sampler. I drink green tea daily for the health benefits as well as for the taste. This tea combines the taste, health benefits for me individually, plus the well-being of the producers and the environment. It is hard to beat a combination like that.
I typically rebrew my teas, so this one I do the recommended strength, with the first brew at 175 degrees for 2.5 minutes. The second brew I raise the heat and the brewing time a little, 5 degrees and .5 minutes. Sometimes I can even do a very mild but thirst-quenching third brew.
Really impressed- this is a very special tea and much better than others at the same price point. Lively household debate over whether it’s best black, with a hint of sugar or with a spot of milk.
I honestly can’t get enough of it
I love it! So easy to use with the infuser that fits “”just right”! The tea stays hot for a good length of time Thank you!
I've been drinking more green tea than usual during the summer. Nepali Green Pearl is good for that creamy citrus note and it seems to compare well with Japanese Sencha. I just brew it for 2 and a half minutes and it's great. The tea makers in Nepal have shaped a green pearl just right.
We recently received three different Oolong teas and have tried two so far. Both have been very fresh and flavorful. They seem a little more oxidized than the Oolongs I’ve been drinking recently, and offer a nice compromise between a black or greener Oolong. We will buy these again.
This white is almost a green tea, and the blend of the two is very pleasant- not as sweet as some whites, which I like.
I've been buying this tea for years now, and it never fails to impress! Order came quickly (just in time, we ran out of our last batch) with friendly email communications. Highly recommend if you're looking for something to punch up your morning, I drink it plain or with a little non-dairy milk depending on how strong I brew it.
All of the teas were delicious, and it was fun to experiment with them as iced teas!
Two of the teas are already my favorites and I buy them all the time. The Kumaon black is new to me and if steeped for the recommended time, I found it a little bitter. I liked it when brewed for 3 minutes only.
Wow! I love all three teas I received in this box - lavender jasmine white, genmaicha and Nilgiri Forest! The Genmaicha taste of toasted brown rice is simply awesome. Thank you YMT for introducing these teas to my tea repertoire.
I had my first cup of this black tea, some years ago, after I found a one ounce packet in my local store. More recently, I bring the dry tea leaf with me to work so that I can brew it there when I have a spare moment. The flavor is always so rich and helps the day go by faster.
I love Nepali Silver Needles. It’s comforting, subtle and full of life and I relish a cup or two every morning. Lovely…
I really like the subtle earthiness of the Assam for brewing kombucha and it’s a nice price point by the pound, especially for organic!

India has become the second-largest tea producer in the world, crafting world renowned varieties including Darjeeling 1st Flush and Assam Black. We at Young Mountain Tea are proud to be part of this globally beloved industry and are working with emerging tea makers to shape its future. We source directly from small-scale tea gardens in pristine mountain ranges—like our Nepali teas, which flourish in the shadow of Everest—and we are the exclusive U.S. importer of many of the Indian and Nepali loose-leaf teas in our online shop, including the Kumaon teas that hail from a forgotten Himalayan tea region that is being reborn. Every ounce (or pound) of loose-leaf tea you buy helps to create vibrant rural economies and restore the environment. Our deep partnerships with tea growers support individual livelihoods, regional commerce, and help remote communities unlock tea's full potential. That means fresh, certified organic, high-quality Indian and Nepali loose-leaf teas that you won’t find anywhere else. We believe it is possible to create sustainable communities through exceptional tea. We believe in quality and sustainability. And of course, we believe in the power of tea. Raise your cup.
