Our Team

Raj is our founder.

He has been confounded by the leaf since his first transcendental encounter with white tea in 2010. Three years later, he started Young Mountain Tea to bridge his budding tea obsession with his interest in creating sustainable livelihoods for Himalayan farming communities. He revels in working across cultures and can be regularly found trying to get the rest of the team on board with another outlandish tea project. His favorite teas remain white, and he’s always searching for the next cup of magic.

Lucas leads our finances.

He was quickly converted to an every day tea sipper when he learned about the energizing yet leveling effects that Camellia sinensis induces. Beginning his journey with Young Mountain Tea as an environmental science major in search of a way to use business as a driving force for good, Lucas continues to be intrigued and excited about the possibilities that such an entity can create.

Mitra leads our marketing.

Growing up in Persia, tea runs in Mitra's blood. But it was while living and working in the Pacific Northwest that she truly found herself immersed in the beverage and all its delicious forms; and she continues to be delighted by the international and cultural nuances that it represents. Mitra has been active as a graphic designer and visual artist for most of her adult life, and she is very happy to bring her passion for tea and design to Young Mountain Tea.

Manny leads our operations.

A lifelong coffee drinker, Manny has been diving into tea for the first time—and loving it. Drawn to Young Mountain Tea's mission to build a fair, farmer-led tea world, he's passionate about solving operational puzzles, streamlining details, and keeping things flowing smoothly. He treats everything like a well-tuned mountain trail, where each step brings fresh energy and new possibilities.

Camilo serves as our Senior Advisor.

After founding Infinite Herbs in his garage and growing it into an international operation with hundreds of employees over two decades, Camilo knows a thing or two about building supply chains that actually work. He visited our Kumaon factory, fell in love with our mission, and now spends his time coaching us through all the wild complexities of creating a farmer-centered tea supply chain—helping us turn our vision of empowering tea communities into reality.
