Flavor

A good Breakfast blend should be full-bodied and strong. We accomplish that by marrying two of our single-origin black teas. The malty punch of Organic Assam Black, with its comforting notes of toasted grain, is complemented by a tart, fruity burst from Organic Kumaon Black. This blend is formulated to pair well with a splash of milk and a delicious breakfast.

Origin Story

By using single-origin teas from two Indian tea regions, this blend has a unique combination of depth and lift.

Tea Makers

By using single-origin teas from two Indian tea regions, this blend has a unique combination of depth and lift. While both teas are made with leaves of the same plant, they come from two different varieties; Organic Assam Black is made from the low-elevation Assamaica varietal, which lends strength and depth, while Organic Kumaon Black is from the high-elevation Sinensis varietal, which gives complexity and a fruity sweetness. Through many caffeinated experiments, we fine-tuned the balance between the two to make this blend just right. We hope you enjoy!

Impact

With Indian Breakfast, we're excited to introduce a new grade of Organic Kumaon Black, ideal for blending, alongside Organic Assam from Chardwar Estate, India's first Fair Trade-certified tea estate. Both teas reflect our decade-long commitment to farmer partnership in the Himalayas, where ~500 Kumaon farmers co-own India's first farmer-led specialty tea factory, launched in 2025. 1% of all Young Mountain Tea sales directly support the factory's launch and the farmers who will own it.
