Building A Sustainable Future For Himalayan Farmers And Their Families
Great way to introduce loose-leaf tea, the infuser comes in handy and the pairing makes so much sense, thank you Young Mountain Tea team!
I've tried many times and spent alot of money to find really good, affordable tea(ironically enough), and this is it. I'm not a person who really likes to get into the tastes and textures of certain teas, but I absolutely love the little flavor profiles they send along with the tea, its very easy to explore them, and it's also very easy to mindlessly just make a cup of tea and enjoy these teas too. One gripe that I do have, even though it's not really a gripe per se, more of an unchecked expectation, is the lack of oomph the black teas have, this isn't an English breakfast or Irish breakfast that you really can hammer with the sugar and milk to make a good tea. I think the main thing I'm getting at is that their black teas aren't like your original English teas, their very good, much better than a blend you'd get at a supermarket, but they're not that super deep, malty, bitter brew you get with an English breakfast for instance. If you are looking for that deep breakfast blend, it's not here, but if you are looking for black teas that turn your whole thinking of a black tea upside down, these are definitely it. As for the green and white teas, those were absolutely amazing teas and I have no sort of complaint for either :')
It's perfect! My favorite afternoon tea: uplifting, delicious.
Strong, fragrant and slightly sweet. Best assam I have found so far.
This is a really lovely tea, flavorful with absolutely no bitterness. It's subtle but not at all shrinking, and by the third brewing the color is rich and the aroma is warming. Bought as part of the white tea collection, and I am very much looking forward to trying the others given how delicious this is. A boon that it seems naturally low in caffeine!
The Spring Tea Box is a good value for me. I imagine it could last about 25 days given the way I normally brew tea. The Nepali Green is of course delicious. The oolong from J-Tea looks to be small but when the leaves finally unfurl they are huge. Darjeeling will be my natural morning beverage.
I have to have at least one, preferably several cups/day or I don't feel right. My wife and I have tried most of the offerings from Young Mt., and all have been spectacular. But we're mainly black tea people and if I've been having a long week work wise, this is sometimes literally the only way I can get out of bed.
Only problem is, we keep running out! I'm adding another pound to my regularly scheduled order now!
I put a couple scoops of Kumaon White into a Mason jar, filled with cold water and put it in the fridge for 24 hours and strained it. Both my husband and I thought it very good! Refreshing on a warm afternoon and delicious. The Kumaon White and the Nilgiri White are now my favorite way to start the morning with a clear minded boost. I brew the tea and bring it on a tray so we can sit in bed and enjoy on the weekends. I think the Young Mountain teas have a secret ingredient that makes you feel joy after the first taste.
Very good tea! No matter how I mangle the steeping process, this tea tastes refreshingly good, never bitter. Just learning about green tea and bringing out the best flavors so this one has been accommodating to a newbie! This one came in the seasonal tea box and I am grateful to Young Mountain Tea for providing this fun informative way to experience new teas! Thank you
The seasonal tea boxes have been a fun informative way to experience new teas, develop new favorites, and learn. I would say broaden horizons but horizons are boundless with so many tea varieties . So grateful for Young Mountain Teas! And right here in Oregon!
Spring 2022 box included a phenomenal oolong from another OR tea company! It has big leaves, is fragrant, & perfect for gaiwan steep style.
The other two were a YMT Darjeeling, subtle yet sweet and their most popular green. I have yet to try the green.
Overall, great picks in this season's tea box. I look forward to the next one. No plans to cancel at this time.
What a delightful assortment of specialty teas! This seasonal tea box is an excellent way to expand your personal tea experience and to try teas that are outside of your usual preferences. I love the surprise element-can’t wait for the summer tea selection to arrive!
Exceeded my expectations. I'm very picky. I'm not a green tea person.....best green tea I've ever had ....keep drinking it. Delightful to have a good first flush darjeeling in 2022. And loved the oolong.
Simply a great tasting tea. (That’s why I reordered it.)
A very nice way to start the day. Still get a nice green tea taste, but not as earthy as Chinese teas. So good!

India has become the second-largest tea producer in the world, crafting world renowned varieties including Darjeeling 1st Flush and Assam Black. We at Young Mountain Tea are proud to be part of this globally beloved industry and are working with emerging tea makers to shape its future. We source directly from small-scale tea gardens in pristine mountain ranges—like our Nepali teas, which flourish in the shadow of Everest—and we are the exclusive U.S. importer of many of the Indian and Nepali loose-leaf teas in our online shop, including the Kumaon teas that hail from a forgotten Himalayan tea region that is being reborn. Every ounce (or pound) of loose-leaf tea you buy helps to create vibrant rural economies and restore the environment. Our deep partnerships with tea growers support individual livelihoods, regional commerce, and help remote communities unlock tea's full potential. That means fresh, certified organic, high-quality Indian and Nepali loose-leaf teas that you won’t find anywhere else. We believe it is possible to create sustainable communities through exceptional tea. We believe in quality and sustainability. And of course, we believe in the power of tea. Raise your cup.
