Caffeine free

Organic Peppermint is a crisp, refreshing herbal tea that serves as a great caffeine-free finish to a meal or a day. Our first tea sourced from inside the US, this tea is grown by farmers in the Columbia Basin in Washington.

Tasting Notes: A full, creamy flavor with an aromatic sweetness like sugar. The cleansing quality of peppermint’s essential oils both freshens the breath and calms the stomach, helping facilitate a natural cooling process that’s great for helping with inflammation or digestion. The bright punch of peppermint gives this tea an invigorating strength, like a delicious and intense blanket of relief for your throat, tongue, and body.

Production: Pacific Northwest farmers grow this peppermint in medium sized farm plots, ranging from 24 to 82 acres. Their harvest is dried then aggregated to be sold collectively. For the last decade, these Washington farmers have honed their skills to grow organic peppermint that meets world class marks for quality.

Region: The high deserts of the Pacific Northwest have the ideal climate for growing peppermint. This vigorous perennial takes well to the moist, well drained soils, and the region’s warm days followed by cool nights allow the plant to thrive. Added to that, the long summer days, where sunlight lasts more than 14 hours, supports strong growth. As a result, 90% of mint grown in the US comes from the Pacific Northwest.

Impact: The Washington farmers involved are introducing sustainable and regenerative farming practices, and are on their way to becoming regenerative organic certified. We met a representative of the farmers on a Zoom call with other tea companies all working to figure out how to quantify carbon emissions. We’re glad to partner with similarly valued herbal companies to expand our offerings.

Packaging: Our commitment to sustainability means we offer our teas in several types of packaging:

  • Tins: Durable and reusable, made from 100% recyclable steel. Labels are not recyclable but made from 50% hemp and 50% post-consumer waste.
  • 1 lb Bags: Tough, resealable stand-up pouches with storing moisture and oxygen barriers. Not recyclable due to a 3-layer structure that serves as a food-safe barrier to keep your tea fresh as long as possible.
  • Packs of 100 Tea Bags: Recyclable stand-up pouches with tea bags, strings, and tags made from 100% sugarcane PLA, commercially compostable and degrades into organic matter. For best results, use a commercial compost facility.
